Lead / Staff Backend Engineer

We are working with a heavily funded leading automotive company, and as part of their continued growth, NodeFlair has been engaged to search for a Lead Backend Engineer to join their Singapore team.

The package is competitive at $140K-$190K / year (including bonus)

As a Lead Backend Engineer, where you will shape backend architecture, lead development, and mentor team members. You'll handle microservice architecture, optimize databases, and promote best practices. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, solving complex technical challenges, and making impactful decisions on system design.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and design microservices for car-sharing services.
• Own technical scope and functional flows across systems.
• Optimize PostgreSQL database schemas.
• Perform hands-on coding, pair programming, and code reviews.
• Evaluate and enhance engineering processes for productivity.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years as a backend engineer (2+ years in team management, mentoring, or leading a technical implementation)
• Expertise in event-driven and microservice architecture.
• Experience with Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS, Git, CI/CD, test automation, and containerization.
• Proficiency in software security, monitoring, and SRE practices.
• Knowledge of Scrum, TDD, XP, DDD methodologies.
