CDL A School Graduates - Paid Training

Have your CDL-A but no driving experience yet? This is where you start. Rochester drivers can start with a Northeast fleet out of Syracuse that trains new CDL holders on the road and never sends drivers into New York City.

How You Start

• Ride with an experienced driver trainer on real loads
• $850 per week during training
• Move into your own truck on full pay once your trainer signs off
• $1,000 per week guaranteed for your first 3 months of solo driving

The Job

• Dry van freight in the Northeast and New England
• 1,500 to 2,800 miles per week
• Flexible home time: run 1,900 miles in a week and your weekend is off
• Mostly drop and hook, some live loads and unloads

Pay

• Average weekly earnings of $1,300 to $2,000
• 55 cents per mile to start, plus 1 cent for every year with the company, up to 65 cents

Two Ways to Start

• CDL-A in hand, no experience: 120+ hours from an accredited CDL school. Paid training with a driver trainer, paid every week while you learn.
• Experienced drivers: 6 months OTR in the last 12 months, or 12 months in the last 5 years. Skip training and go straight to your own truck.

Everyone Needs

• Class A CDL, 21 or older
• No more than 2 moving violations in 2 years
• Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
• Live within 200 miles of Syracuse, NY
