Senior Product Manager (AI-Forward)

Summary

You'll work inside the product team at our client, a public-safety SaaS company serving thousands of first-responder agencies, collaborating across the product org and taking real ownership of the features and initiatives you drive. This is a hands-on PM role: you'll turn ambiguous problems into crisp user stories engineers can build from, drive decisions with data rather than opinion, and work directly with client stakeholders and engineering. What sets it apart is how you operate — you're relentlessly AI-forward, using AI to accelerate research, discovery, spec-writing, and analysis, and you've actually built AI-driven workflows of your own. Our client operates under SOC 2 and CJIS constraints, so you'll ship inside compliance guardrails.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

  • Excellent English communication skills — you'll work directly with client stakeholders and engineers, facilitate discovery, and write documentation that removes ambiguity rather than adding it.

  • 5+ years of product management on SaaS products, taking features and initiatives from discovery through delivery in close collaboration with product, design, and engineering.

  • Genuinely data-driven — you define and instrument success metrics, dig into product analytics yourself, and use evidence (not the loudest opinion) to prioritize and make trade-offs.

  • Exceptional user stories and specs — you write clear, well-scoped stories with acceptance criteria that engineers can build from without a dozen follow-up questions.

  • Genuinely AI-forward in how you work — you default to AI for user research synthesis, competitive analysis, spec drafting, and data exploration, and you're opinionated about where it helps vs. where it doesn't.

  • Hands-on: you've actually built something with AI — a custom GPT or Claude Skill, an AI-assisted research/synthesis workflow, an automated reporting or prioritization process, an agentic prototype, anything you use in your day-to-day. You must be able to describe a concrete tool or process you created. "I use ChatGPT for first drafts" is not enough.

  • Technical fluency — comfortable reading an API contract, reasoning about data models, and holding your own with engineers.

  • Autonomy — you can scope, prioritize, and drive your initiatives forward in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment without hand-holding.

Requirements (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Hands-on comfort with product analytics tools (Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo, or SQL for self-serve querying).

  • Experience shipping AI/ML-powered features, not just using AI tools internally.

  • Experience with multi-product or platform environments.

  • Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments (SOC 2, CJIS, or similar regulated contexts).

Bonus Points

  • You've built and shared an AI-powered product workflow or tool that others actually adopted — bonus if it's public or written up.

  • Public-safety, govtech, or other regulated-industry background.

  • Prior experience as an engineer, designer, or data analyst before PM.
