About the job QA Engineer
Senior QA Automation Engineer (AI-Forward)
Location: Remote (Global)
Team: Quality Engineering
Summary
You'll embed in our client's QA team, owning quality across their public-safety products. This is a hands-on QA role with heavy frontend test automation at its core — you'll build and maintain end-to-end suites, design test strategy, and catch what matters before it ships. What sets this role apart is how you work: you're relentlessly AI-forward, using AI tools to write tests faster, expand coverage, triage faster, and cut the repetitive parts of QA out of your day. The client operates under SOC 2 and CJIS constraints, so you'll work cleanly inside compliance guardrails.
Requirements (Must-Haves)
Excellent English communication skills — you'll work directly inside the client's QA team and write clear, defensible bug reports and test plans.
5+ years in QA / test automation, with real ownership of automated suites in production environments (not just manual or exploratory testing).
Heavy frontend automation experience in at least one modern framework — e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium — building and maintaining stable, reliable end-to-end web tests.
Strong API testing — designing and automating service-level tests (REST) to validate backend behavior independently of the UI.
Genuinely AI-forward in how you work — you default to AI tools to generate tests, expand coverage, triage failures, and remove repetitive work, and you're opinionated about where AI helps vs. where it doesn't.
Hands-on: you've actually built something with AI — a Claude Skill, an AI-assisted test generator, an automated triage flow, or an AI-driven process you use in your day-to-day. You must be able to describe a concrete tool or process you created. "I use ChatGPT sometimes" is not enough.
Solid QA fundamentals — test planning, regression strategy, clear repro steps, and the judgment to know what's worth automating.
Autonomy — you can prioritize and execute within an established QA team without hand-holding.
Requirements (Nice-to-Haves)
Comfort writing automation in JavaScript/TypeScript.
CI/CD integration of automated tests (GitHub Actions or similar).
Experience testing multi-product or multi-team web platforms.
Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments (SOC 2, CJIS, or similar regulated contexts).
Bonus Points
You've built and shared an AI-powered QA tool or workflow that others actually adopted — bonus if it's public or written up.
Performance, accessibility, or security testing depth beyond functional QA.
Public-safety, govtech, or other regulated-industry background.
