Position: Senior AWS Data Engineer (Hybrid in Lisbon)

What You'll Be Doing (in the most epic way possible):
- Design and develop cloud-based data pipelines to transform raw data from various sources (APIs, FTP, SFTP) into structured formats.
- Implement and maintain high-performance batch and streaming data pipelines, ensuring monitoring and alerting systems for data analysts and business users.
- Assemble and manage large, complex datasets while ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Support data governance initiatives by cataloguing and describing metadata.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for performance and scalability, leveraging tools like DBT core when necessary.
- Ensure best practices in CI/CD and version control using GitHub or GitLab.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing support in troubleshooting, monitoring, and continuous improvement of data solutions.
- Stay ahead of the curve by keeping up with the latest technologies and industry trends to enhance data engineering practices.
What you bring to the table:
- University degree in Engineering or related discipline
- More than 5 years of experience in data engineering, with hands-on expertise in AWS and Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of cloud-based data solutions, with strong knowledge of AWS services (S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS, IAM, CloudWatch).
- Expertise in SQL with experience designing analytical databases, working with structured/unstructured data, and writing complex SQL queries (knowledge of DBT core is a plus).
- Proficiency in Python and data-related libraries (Pandas, Boto3).
- Experience with CI/CD practices and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform) is a plus.
- Experience with version control tool such as GitHub or GitLab
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus
- Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Step Functions, or Prefect.
- AWS and Snowflake certifications (e.g., AWS Solution Architect, SnowPro Core) are a strong advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver against deadlines.
- Strong communication skills in English (Portuguese and/or French is a plus).
