About the role

We are looking for a skilled Architect for Intelligent Systems to lead the technical strategy, design, and implementation of solutions for our enterprise customers who enable, operate or make use of the Internet of Things (IoT).

This individual will be a technical lead and reference for both internal teams and customers, driving data enablement and AI-driven automation across our solutions for IoT.

Responsabilities

  • Define and evolve modular, scalable, and future-proof architectures for IoT-related solutions. Enable hyperautomation across IoT ecosystems by integrating data, AI, and workflow orchestration into intelligent, event-driven architectures.
  • Select and map the appropriate technology components for architecture and solution requirements. Continuously evaluate and test new technologies, platforms, products, and cloud services when needed.
  • Act as a technical lead and key reference for customers. Define integration architecture with external systems, identifying technical dependencies, risks, and solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in architecture strategies and technology for IoT solutions.
  • Collaborate with business teams to align technical capabilities with monetization strategies.

Must-Have Core Competences

  • Cloud-Native & Distributed Architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform,)
  • Data Platforms & Streaming Data (Data Lakes, SQL and NoSQL, Time-Series DBs, Graph DBs), Mediation (NiFi, Airflow, Pentaho), brokering (Kafka, RabbitMQ, HiveMq) and streaming (Kafka Streams, Flink, Spark Streaming).
  • Data Modeling & Interaction Data modeling and dynamic knowledge representation, graph-based, time-series, relational and hierarchical data models; Data reports, interactive dashboards, graph and maps visualizations.
  • Hyper automation Architecting systems that transform IoT data into actionable insights and automated responses with low latency, integrating AI/ML in process orchestration and workflow engines (e.g., Airflow, Camunda).
  • Security & Compliance Architecture Data encryption (at rest/in transit), IAM, Zero Trust, API Security, GDPR, ISO 27001.

Important-to-Have Context Competences

  • Edge-to-Cloud Architecture Design scalable edge-to-cloud architectures, optimize data flow, and balance edge intelligence vs. centralized processing.
  • IoT Data Exchange Standards Understanding of data serialization formats for efficient transport and processing (e.g., Protobuf, Avro), familiarity with observability and telemetry frameworks (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus), knowledge of IoT and industrial data exchange protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, SNMP, Modbus, Profinet).
  • IoT Device Management Secure onboarding, provisioning, edge-to-cloud, multi-vendor interoperability and remote device management;
  • API & Enterprise Integration Designing secure, API-first architectures using event-driven microservices, API-Gateways (Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway), and integrations with Enterprise IT systems (ERP, CRM, Supply Chain Management,).
  • Connectivity Knowledge Knowledge of IoT connectivity layers (e.g., 4G/5G connectivity, LPWAN).
  • Cost-Aware & Scalable Thinking Ability to balance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency across cloud, edge, and hybrid deployments.
  • Operational & Human-Centric Perspective Practical focus in the solution operational feasibility, user adoption and experience.
  • Project & Leadership Experience Leading cross-functional engineering teams, guiding technical decision-making, and ensuring successful delivery in agile environments.

PERSONAL TRAITS

  • 8+ years in software engineering and architecture.
  • Hands-on technical experience in Systems Integration, Data Platforms and/or Intelligent Event-driven solutions. Proficiency in writing & reviewing code, debugging distributed systems, and guiding development teams in best practices
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end solutions for scalable, data-driven architecture and integrate AI-driven automation.
  • Experience with Cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including serverless architecture, hybrid cloud deployments, and cloud cost-optimization strategies.
  • Deep capacity and motivation for leading cross-functional technical teams and mentoring talent.
