Position: Kafka Engineer

Contract Details:

This is a full-time position with competitive salary and benefits package.

Job Overview:

We are looking for a talented Kafka Engineer to join our team and help us build scalable and reliable data streaming solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our Kafka infrastructure. You will work closely with our development and data engineering teams to ensure the smooth operation of our data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain our Kafka infrastructure
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and performance
  • Configure and optimize Kafka brokers, topics, and partitions
  • Work closely with development and data engineering teams to integrate Kafka into our data pipelines
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Kafka infrastructure and processes
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Kafka features and best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotation for production support

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a large-scale environment
  • Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture and internals
  • Experience with Kafka administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Kafka cluster sizing and capacity planning
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, Python)
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system and shell scripting
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Kafka certification is a plus
