Position: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer – Azure & AWS
Location: Hybrid in Alfragide, Lisbon
Job Summary
This is a hands-on cloud infrastructure position supporting business-critical environments where availability, security and resilience genuinely matter.
You'll administer and maintain cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, working with networking, security, compute, storage and monitoring components.
You'll also use Infrastructure as Code to automate environments, investigate complex incidents and help ensure the platform remains secure, resilient and ready for whatever production decides to throw at it.
The environment combines public cloud with on-premises infrastructure, so we're looking for someone who understands how the different pieces connect.
If you enjoy troubleshooting complex issues, automating repetitive work and asking "What happens if this component fails?" you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain cloud infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and AWS;
- Implement and manage infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code, preferably using Terraform;
- Configure and manage cloud networking components, including VNets, VPCs, VPNs, firewalls and Network Security Groups;
- Manage cloud identity and access controls using technologies such as IAM and RBAC;
- Monitor cloud environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CloudWatch or equivalent platforms;
- Investigate and resolve incidents involving infrastructure, networks, applications and performance;
- Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions;
- Support hybrid environments combining on-premises infrastructure and public cloud services;
- Collaborate with development and engineering teams on CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation;
- Help improve cloud governance, security and operational standards;
- Support cloud cost optimisation through right-sizing, autoscaling and capacity planning;
- Document infrastructure, architectures, operational procedures and technical decisions.
Requirements
- Professional experience administering cloud infrastructure in Microsoft Azure, AWS or both;
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, compute, storage, security and monitoring;
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform;
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure, network or performance issues;
- Understanding of identity and access management concepts, including IAM and RBAC;
- Experience working with monitoring and logging platforms such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics or CloudWatch;
- Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or equivalent;
- Experience working with hybrid environments combining on-premises infrastructure and cloud services;
- Understanding of backup, disaster recovery, high availability and operational resilience;
- Good documentation, communication and collaboration skills;
- A proactive and security-conscious approach to infrastructure management;
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field;
- Fluent Portuguese and good working proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
