Position: Business Intelligence & Data Science Consultant

Location: Oporto - Hybrid

Job Summary: We are looking for a Data & AI Lead to provide technical leadership to a data-focused team, ensuring the adoption of best practices, high-quality solutions, and continuous technical development.

The role combines technical leadership, Data & Analytics expertise and AI adoption, with a strong focus on leveraging AI to improve data processes, decision-making and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data team, promoting best practices, standards and high-quality delivery.
• Lead and support the implementation of Power BI and Data Analytics solutions.
• Ensure best practices across data modelling, visualisation, reporting and analytics.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI within data processes and business use cases.
• Support the team in evaluating and adopting new AI tools, technologies and methodologies.
• Mentor team members, promote knowledge sharing and support their technical development.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable data and AI solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement in the team's processes, tools and ways of working.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in Data Science, AI and Business Intelligence, assessing their potential application within the organisation.

Requirements:

• Strong experience with Power BI, including data modelling, dashboards and reporting.
• Solid background in Data Science, Data Analytics or a related field.
• Proven experience in technical leadership, team leadership or mentoring.
• Good understanding of AI and Generative AI, with the ability to identify practical use cases and drive adoption.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing AI solutions in data/analytics environments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure / Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience with Python, SQL or other data-related technologies.
• Experience driving digital transformation or AI adoption initiatives.
• Experience working in international or multicultural environments.
