Position: Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer
Location: Porto (Hybrid)


Job Summary

We're looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer who enjoys solving complex business challenges through clean, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

This is a hands-on role within a business-critical environment where data, performance, reliability and application stability are essential. You'll work across the full application lifecycle, from requirements analysis and solution design to development, testing, production support and continuous improvement.

We're particularly interested in professionals with strong SQL expertise who enjoy working with complex queries, performance optimization and large datasets. Beyond database development, you'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, application teams and international delivery squads to build and support solutions that directly impact critical business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze business needs and translate requirements into technical solutions;
  • Design, develop and maintain applications built around Oracle databases and PL/SQL;
  • Write, optimize and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures;
  • Improve database performance through query tuning and optimization techniques;
  • Participate in application design, technical architecture discussions and solution definition;
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests to ensure solution quality;
  • Investigate and resolve production incidents and application issues;
  • Provide application support and participate in on-call activities when required;
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers and infrastructure teams throughout the delivery lifecycle;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, automation and technical modernization efforts;
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, estimation and delivery activities;
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in Oracle development environments;
  • Strong expertise in Oracle PL/SQL development;
  • Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex queries, performance analysis and optimization;
  • Experience working across the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC);
  • Solid understanding of application design, development, testing and support activities;
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues and performing root cause analysis;
  • Knowledge of object-oriented development principles;
  • Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban;
  • Experience with source control, CI/CD practices and software quality methodologies;
  • Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to challenge requirements constructively and proactively propose improvements;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work within international teams;
  • Professional proficiency in English (minimum B2).

  • Experience working in international, multicultural organizations.
