A well-established organisation in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Head of Sales to lead, structure, and scale its sales function.

Are you a proven sales leader who has built and scaled high-performing teams from the ground up? This role offers the opportunity to lead an established 8-person sales team and drive an ambitious growth trajectory toward R100M GMV.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership role suited to someone who has successfully built and driven high-performing teams, with full accountability for revenue delivery and margin performance.


Role Overview

  • Location: Cape Town (office-based)

  • Employment Type: Permanent

  • Reporting to: CEO

  • Team: 8 direct reports across Business Development, Product Sales, and Retention

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and scale a multi-functional sales team

  • Drive revenue growth against defined commercial targets

  • Take ownership of sales performance, margins, and overall commercial outcomes

  • Implement and optimise CRM systems, reporting frameworks, and sales processes

  • Develop team capability through coaching, performance management, and structure

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a sales leadership role

  • Proven track record of building and scaling teams (0–10+ employees)

  • Strong experience with P&L ownership and margin management

  • Exposure to R50M+ revenue or R200M+ GMV environments

  • Hands-on experience in CRM implementation and sales process design

  • Relevant degree required (MBA or similar advantageous)


Remuneration Structure

  • Base Salary: R40,000 – R50,000 per month

  • Performance Incentive: Up to 100% of monthly base (on-target achievement)

  • Total Cost to Company: R960,000 – R1,200,000 per annum (dependent on performance)
