Institutional Sales (Equities) – Hong Kong
Job Summary
A leading investment bank seeks an experienced Institutional Sales professional to drive equity product sales to institutional clients across Hong Kong and Greater China. The role focuses on building relationships with buy-side funds, asset managers, corporates, and brokers while promoting cash equities, derivatives, ECM deals, and structured products. Reports to Head of Equity Sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquire and grow institutional client relationships (funds, QFII/RQFII, SOEs, corporates) in HK, Mainland China, and APAC.
- Pitch tailored equity solutions including cash equities, equity derivatives, IPOs, block trades, and structured notes.
- Deliver market updates, research insights, and trading ideas to drive client execution and revenue.
- Partner with trading, research, and ECM teams for integrated client coverage.
- Organise roadshows, seminars, and client meetings to strengthen engagement.
- Track client mandates, AUM flows, and performance to identify cross-sell opportunities.
- Meet/exceed revenue targets through new business development and wallet share expansion.
- Maintain compliance with HK SFC Type 1/4, KYC/AML, and internal risk policies.
Requirements
- 5-8+ years institutional equity sales experience at bulge-bracket IB, Chinese broker, or regional bank.
- Strong track record serving institutional clients with existing China/HK network.
- Fluent Mandarin, English essential; Cantonese preferred.
- Expertise in HKEX equities, Stock Connect, A/H shares, derivatives products.
- Bachelor's in Finance/Business; CFA/MBA advantageous.
- SFC RA (Type 1 & 4 licensed or eligible).
