MLRO / Head of Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) 



Responsibilities

  • Statutory MLRO: Act as HKMA-registered MLRO and primary liaison for the HKMA, JFIU, and regulators on all AML/CFT matters.
  • Regulatory Governance: Direct STR reporting, manage HKMA inspections/audits, drive remediation, and advise senior leadership on regulatory changes.
  • FCC Framework & Tech: Own and upgrade end-to-end AML controls (KYC, TM, Sanctions, FCRA) and automated systems for high-volume digital banking.
  • Scope Expansion: Provide FCC oversight for cross-border payments/remittances
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional: Manage a team of 5+ FCC professionals and partner with Risk, Legal, Tech, and C-suite to balance compliance with business growth.

Requirements

  • Experience & Seniority: 10+ years in AML/FCC in brokerage firm/web3
  • Must hold or have held official HKMA-registered MLRO status (internal titles insufficient).
  • Proven experience leading direct SFC inspections.
  • Managing 5+ headcount; 
  • Background in digital banking, e-wallets, or automated KYC.
  • Native Cantonese/Mandarin speaker with deep Hong Kong regulatory and market expertise.
