Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Systems Engineer II to support, maintain, and enhance the performance, security, and reliability of enterprise IT systems. This mid-level role is responsible for managing server infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud environments in support of business-critical applications across a shared services or financial services organization.
The ideal candidate has experience in Windows/Linux environments, is comfortable working with cloud platforms and virtualization tools, and is capable of troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues in collaboration with cross-functional IT teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor, and support enterprise systems including physical and virtual servers, cloud infrastructure, and storage platforms.
- Implement system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshoot system-level incidents, analyze root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support IT service delivery.
- Assist in deploying and managing cloud-based infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Support backup and disaster recovery procedures, ensuring business continuity and data integrity.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and operational procedures.
- Participate in IT projects such as migrations, system integrations, and automation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, best practices, and IT governance policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration or engineering within enterprise IT environments.
- Solid experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments, Active Directory, and system monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Working knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).
- Understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and incident response protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
