About the job Scrum Master
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all core Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, production deployments, and documentation.
- Coach the Scrum team on Agile best practices, principles, and the JIRA-centric software delivery process.
- Act as a servant-leader by removing impediments that hinder the teams progress and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Collaborate closely with product and program owners in managing and prioritizing product backlogs, defining business requirements, resolving issues, and communicating delivery roadmaps.
- Monitor team performance and track sprint progress using JIRA and other Agile tools, providing transparency through dashboards and reports.
- Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders across various levels to ensure alignment and keep all parties informed on project status and updates.
- Lead retrospectives and foster a culture of continuous improvement by implementing actionable changes.
- Proactively identify potential risks, conduct risk assessments, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize delivery impact.
- Utilize Agile project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint) for task management, collaboration, and documentation.
- Support product/program owners in reviewing and accepting sprint deliverables to ensure adherence to requirements and shippable product quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3+ years of proven experience as a Scrum Master within an Agile software development environment.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks, especially Scrum, with the ability to coach and mentor team members and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using Atlassian JIRA for managing Agile projects and creating actionable project reporting.
- Strong facilitation and leadership skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills suitable for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in managing change in dynamic environments.
- Skilled in risk management with a proactive approach to identifying issues and delivering mitigation plans.
- Committed to continuous improvement and supporting standardization of best practices in backlog management, delivery roadmap communication, and task/resource management.
