Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Area Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day production and operational efficiency of multiple manufacturing facilities or departments within the apparel and export manufacturing industry. This leadership role is responsible for managing factory performance, workforce planning, production output, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned locations.

The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of garment manufacturing operations, strong people management capabilities, and the ability to drive alignment between quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee operations across assigned production facilities or areas to meet output, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Coordinate with merchandising, planning, quality, and HR teams to align operational priorities with business goals.
  • Monitor KPIs including efficiency, line balancing, workforce utilization, and production lead times.
  • Implement process improvements to reduce waste, optimize productivity, and ensure compliance with production standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to area supervisors, line leaders, and support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, labor, and environmental regulations.
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues related to manpower, materials, equipment, and timelines.
  • Prepare reports on performance metrics and present operational insights to senior management.
  • Support capacity planning, budgeting, and factory readiness for new orders or client audits.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through training, coaching, and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • At least 8-10 years of progressive experience in apparel manufacturing, with 3+ years in a senior operational leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale production floors, factory teams, or satellite facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, production planning, and cost control techniques.
  • Effective leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
  • Proficient in using production tracking systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.
