Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Modern Trade Sales Manager to lead sales and distribution efforts across supermarket chains, convenience stores, and other key retail partners. This role is responsible for managing relationships with modern trade accounts, driving volume growth, and ensuring effective execution of in-store activities and promotionsspecifically within the food and frozen goods categories.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in FMCG or food manufacturing, with a proven track record of handling large-format retail partners and delivering sales targets through strategic trade initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow sales in modern trade channels including supermarkets, hypermarkets, convenience chains, and specialty retailers.
- Build strong relationships with key account decision-makers to negotiate listings, trade terms, and promotional support.
- Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with overall business objectives, category performance, and brand positioning.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, market share, and competitor activity within assigned accounts.
- Coordinate with marketing, supply chain, and operations teams to ensure product availability, promotional execution, and store-level compliance.
- Lead the development of account-specific plans, including merchandising, visibility, and seasonal promotions.
- Monitor inventory levels and demand planning in coordination with distributors or trade partners.
- Supervise and coach field sales representatives or account executives handling store-level execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in sales or key account management, with a focus on modern trade in the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of trade dynamics, shopper behavior, and category management.
- Proven ability to manage high-value accounts and drive in-store execution.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
- Analytical mindset with proficiency in reporting and sales forecasting tools.
- Willingness to travel and conduct regular store visits and trade checks.
