Hiring: Communications Associate (Hybrid and Full-Time)

A purpose-driven nonprofit organization is looking for a Communications Associate to join its mission to promote higher welfare standards and empathy for farmed animals in the Philippines. If youre a creative communicator with a heart for advocacy, this might be the role for you.

What Youll Do

Content Strategy & Creation (55%)

  • Craft engaging articles, reports, opinion pieces, and social media posts aligned with the organizations mission.
  • Maintain and update website content regularly.
  • Transform long-form content into visuals or short-form pieces for online platforms.
  • Conduct research on animal welfare and social issues to strengthen messaging.
  • Support the development of the organizations key messages and positioning.

Social Media & Community Engagement (30%)

  • Manage content calendars and publish posts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Threads.
  • Engage with online audiences through comments, messages, and discussions.

External Communications (8%)

  • Draft press releases, media kits, and pitches.
  • Work with the Communications Manager and partners to ensure consistent messaging.

Monitoring & Reporting (7%)

  • Track media and social media metrics.
  • Generate reports to assess communication impact and identify areas for improvement.

About You

  • You care deeply about animal welfare and believe in using communication for social change.
  • Youre a strong writer, editor, and storyteller with an eye for detail.
  • You thrive in dynamic digital environments and are confident handling multiple social platforms.
  • Youre adaptable, data-driven, and organized, with a willingness to experiment and refine.
  • You value collaboration, are responsive to feedback, and are proactive in your work style.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year course, preferably in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in content creation, communications, or digital engagement.
  • Background in nonprofit or advocacy work is a strong advantage.
  • Skilled in Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar design tools.
  • Proficient in video editing using Adobe Premiere, CapCut, or equivalent platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
