Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Merchandising Manager to support the end-to-end merchandising process for apparel or export-driven production lines. This role works closely with senior merchandisers, production teams, and international buyers to ensure on-time delivery, product quality, and smooth communication across functions. The position requires a solid understanding of product development and manufacturing timelines within a garments or fashion goods environment.

The ideal candidate has prior experience in client coordination, order tracking, and sample approvals, and is ready to step into a leadership support role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing buyer accounts, including communication on product development, order updates, and approvals.
  • Coordinate sampling schedules, material sourcing, and costing preparation.
  • Monitor production progress and support troubleshooting on potential delays or technical issues.
  • Review and validate technical packs, product specifications, and style sheets before production.
  • Collaborate with internal teamsdesign, sourcing, QA, and logisticsto ensure alignment and execution.
  • Track shipment timelines, order status, and client requirements to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Support the Merchandising Manager in team coordination, reporting, and client presentations.
  • Maintain organized records of style developments, changes, approvals, and correspondences.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in apparel, accessories, or export manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of production timelines, sampling, costing, and garment construction.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience in buyer-facing roles.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, production tracking tools, and merchandising documentation.
