Job Summary:
We are seeking a Japanese-speaking Java Developer to support the development and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications in a global IT services environment. The role involves working with multilingual teams and stakeholders, translating requirements from Japanese to technical specifications, and implementing robust backend systems using Java technologies.
The ideal candidate has solid experience in Java development and is comfortable communicating technical and functional information in both Japanese and English, especially in client-facing or cross-border collaboration contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, Spring, and related frameworks based on client requirements.
- Interpret functional specifications and documentation written in Japanese, and collaborate with bilingual teams for accurate implementation.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and deployment of software components.
- Work closely with project managers, QA, and client-side technical teams to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Maintain system documentation and contribute to technical knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Provide technical support or enhancements to existing applications as needed.
- Contribute to project planning and progress tracking using Agile or iterative development methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Java development; strong foundation in OOP, backend systems, and RESTful API integration.
- Proficient in Java (8 or higher), Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA, and Maven/Gradle.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N4 or higher preferred) and working proficiency in English.
- Experience working in cross-cultural, offshore/onshore development environments is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, Git-based version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
