Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Japanese-speaking Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT, software development, or enterprise transformation projects. This role requires direct coordination with Japanese-speaking stakeholders, regional teams, and technical staff to ensure milestones are met on time, within scope, and aligned with business goals.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in project delivery, exceptional communication skills in Japanese and English, and experience managing projects in global or multilingual environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Coordinate with Japanese-speaking clients and internal teams to gather requirements, align timelines, and track deliverables.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare reports, and manage project documentation in both Japanese and English.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and issues, and proactively resolve them with appropriate stakeholders.
- Monitor and control project scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Work with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, designers, and business analysts.
- Ensure alignment with project governance frameworks and stakeholder expectations.
- Lead Agile/Scrum or Waterfall-based projects, depending on the engagement.
- Support post-project evaluation and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IT project management, including experience working with Japanese clients or stakeholders.
- Business-level proficiency in Japanese (JLPT N4 or higher) and English, both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Trello, Confluence).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification is preferred.
- Experience in managing cross-border or offshore project delivery is a strong advantage.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
