Job Summary:
We are seeking a Japanese-speaking SAP ABAP Developer to support the design, development, and enhancement of SAP applications for enterprise clients. This role involves interpreting technical and functional requirements in Japanese, delivering custom ABAP programs, and ensuring seamless integration within various SAP modules.
The ideal candidate has strong ABAP programming experience and is comfortable working in cross-cultural, collaborative environments where bilingual communication is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain custom programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms using SAP ABAP.
- Translate Japanese-language functional specifications and documentation into technical requirements.
- Collaborate with functional consultants, analysts, and end users to ensure accurate solution delivery.
- Perform code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure quality and compliance with development standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in both English and Japanese as needed.
- Support incident resolution, change requests, and enhancements in SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.
- Work with integration technologies such as IDoc, BAPI, RFC, and OData for SAP system interfaces.
- Participate in Agile development cycles and global SAP project rollouts or support activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of SAP ABAP development experience in SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA environments.
- Proficient in Japanese (JLPT N4 or higher) and English, both spoken and written.
- Strong knowledge of core ABAP development tools (Reports, Module Pool, SmartForms, ALV, BDC, User Exits, BADIs).
- Experience in SAP module areas such as FI/CO, MM, SD, or HR is a plus.
- Familiarity with ABAP Objects, CDS Views, and Fiori/UI5 integration is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in global teams and multicultural environments is preferred.
