Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to oversee the financial operations, reporting, and compliance activities of a growing company in the retail and garment services sector. This role ensures accurate bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial transparency to support operational and strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong experience in general accounting, BIR reporting, and internal controls, and is capable of supporting both day-to-day transactions and month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, ledgers, and journal entries.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with local accounting standards.
- Oversee tax computations and filings, including VAT, withholding tax, and income tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.).
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory balances.
- Support audits and provide documentation as needed for internal and external reviews.
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance and flag variances for review.
- Recommend improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
- Coordinate with other departments for expense tracking, purchasing, and financial support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accountancy; must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within a retail, service, or SME environment.
- Strong knowledge of local tax laws, BIR reporting requirements, and statutory compliance.
- Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
