Our client, an established brand recognized for its innovative approach to apparel design and manufacturing are looking for a Workshop Manager to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage a dedicated production team and contribute to the creation of high-quality, innovative apparel.
About the Role:
As the Workshop Manager, you will oversee the entire manufacturing process and the operations of a team of 15 skilled employees. You will be responsible for managing production, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of quality in garment manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the management, training, and supervision of the production team.
- Lead the cutting and assembly processes for garments such as deconstructed jackets, safari jackets, and trousers.
- Assess patterns for feasibility and provide input on grading when required.
- Allocate assembly tasks based on the skills of individual operators.
- Set up and balance the production line, ensuring smooth workflows from preparation to finishing.
- Develop and implement efficient assembly processes to enhance production quality and speed.
- Provide hands-on training and demonstrations to operators, ensuring clarity and precision in task execution.
- Plan production schedules, set production rates, and calculate times and costs for each model.
- Maintain machinery knowledge and ensure proper usage to optimize productivity and garment quality.
What We Are Looking For:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within garment manufacturing.
- Strong expertise in garment cutting and assembly, particularly with deconstructed jackets and slacks.
- Solid understanding of garment patterns, grading, and production machinery.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and motivate a production team.
- Experience in organizing production workflows and balancing production lines.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
