Aviation Civil Engineer

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to take on increasing responsibilities in the design and management of landside civil engineering projects supporting aviation clients. This role offers exposure to complex airport projects, project coordination, and design tasks while contributing to a dynamic, employee-owned engineering firm.

The successful candidate will manage project tasks, provide updates to department management, and coordinate with clients and subconsultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop contract documents including plans, specifications, and quantities/estimates.

• Prepare and coordinate project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

• Maintain departmental organizational and quality control standards.

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, aerial photography, and geologic data to plan projects.

• Perform design computations and technical specifications writing.

• Coordinate and/or manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an accredited program.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.

• 48 years of experience in Civil Design.

• Task management experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer/MicroStation.

• Detailed construction cost estimating experience.

• Strong technical specification writing skills.

• Proficient in MS Office software.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and Orders.

• Understanding of DoD Unified Facilities Criteria.

• Project management skills: schedules, budgets, task tracking.

• Supervisory experience on project tasks.

• Road/Highway design experience.
