Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical CAD Designer to transform engineering concepts into precise 2D/3D designs for HVACR equipment. This role collaborates across departments to support mechanical product development, create fabrication-ready drawings, and ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate sketches, notes, and engineering input into detailed CAD drawings, assemblies, and wiring diagrams.

  • Build 3D models of mechanical components using CAD tools (Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).

  • Create and maintain fabrication documentation, submittals, and production-level drawings.

  • Ensure compliance with CAD standards, manage revision control (ECN), and maintain BOM and CAD libraries.

  • Participate in design reviews, incorporate feedback, and enhance designs for manufacturability and performance.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product development teams to ensure cross-functional integration.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proficient in CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, etc.).

  • Strong spatial reasoning, geometry, technical drawing, and mechanical comprehension.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Experience with HVACR, electromechanical systems, piping, sheet metal, and wiring preferred.

  • Familiarity with GD&T standards, revision control, and ECN processes.

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Mathematics, or Physics.

Preferred Background

  • Experience at HVACR OEMs or similar manufacturing environments.

  • Ability to manage complex assemblies, tolerance calculations, and cross-functional design integration.

  • Strong focus on design accuracy, manufacturability, and technical documentation quality.
