Position Overview

We are seeking a Purchasing Manager with experience in HVAC, plumbing, and piping procurement to join a well-established mechanical contracting company. This role is responsible for procurement, vendor relations, warehouse operations, tool and equipment management, cost tracking, and project support.

The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, procurement experience, and the ability to manage inventory and supplier relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective material acquisition for projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Assign cost codes and project numbers to all purchase orders and invoices.
• Monitor and track daily deliveries and scheduled shipments to ensure project timelines are met.
• Oversee warehouse operations and assign tasks to warehouse personnel.
• Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely billing, resolve backorders, and process credits.
• Manage and track large-scale purchase orders for HVAC, plumbing, and piping materials.
• Negotiate vendor pricing and maintain relationships with current and potential suppliers.
• Manage tool inventory and coordinate equipment repairs through the tool tracking system.
• Set up and oversee rental agreements for tools, storage, office trailers, and man-lifts.
• Participate in project meetings to provide procurement updates and resolve ordering issues.
• Maintain and track tool budgets for all projects.
• Oversee and manage the fleet vehicle GPS program, ensuring proper truck departures, driver assignments, and vehicle maintenance scheduling.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management in the construction, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting industry.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Ability to manage large-scale purchase orders and coordinate material deliveries.
• Experience overseeing warehouse operations, tool inventory, and equipment tracking.
• Proficiency in cost tracking and project budgeting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with mechanical contractors or construction suppliers.
• Familiarity with HVAC, plumbing, and piping materials.
• Knowledge of fleet vehicle tracking and GPS management.
