About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to join our team within an aseptic and extended-shelf-life beverage manufacturing environment. This role is critical in providing technical support to operations, enhancing processes, and driving continuous improvement. The Process Engineer will play a key role in the planning, design, implementation, and management of systems to optimize operational performance and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, commission, maintain, and improve aseptic processing equipment.
  • Support the maintenance and operation of plant systems to uphold safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and OEMs to troubleshoot mechanical, process, and automation issues.
  • Work on process improvements in areas such as dairy receiving, batching/blending, pasteurization, UHT processing, and aseptic filling.
  • Perform root cause analysis of manufacturing deviations and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and FDA regulations for process parameters and operational conditions.
  • Prepare and execute capital and expense projects, including project justifications and proposals.
  • Author documentation such as preventive maintenance plans, SOPs, validation protocols, and reports.
  • Assist with process investigations, product impact assessments, and change controls.
  • Develop and maintain accurate equipment/process specifications and drawings.
  • Provide on-site support for process scale-ups and customer launches during both regular and after hours.
  • Participate in plant improvement initiatives and cross-functional collaborations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Process, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:
    • 2-5 years of engineering experience preferred.
    • Experience in aseptic processing or regulated environments (e.g., GMP, FDA, ISO, USDA, PMO) is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with low-acid aseptic and ESL manufacturing processes is preferred.
    • Dairy manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, fishbone, 8D).
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical, process, and automation issues.
    • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to stand, climb steps, and work in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with equipment containing electromagnetic components.
