Job Description:

We are seeking a Survey Technician to join our team at an underground Zinc operation in Gouverneur, NY. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience in surveying and a strong understanding of MSHA regulations. The successful candidate will perform independent surveys, collaborate with engineers, and ensure compliance with mining project specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent as-built surveys of underground mined excavation geometries and various site features daily.
  • Utilize surveying equipment and technology to collect and analyze data accurately.
  • Work closely with engineers and mining teams to ensure compliance with project plans and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain detailed records of all surveying activities and findings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Must Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations related to site safety.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, and technical drawings.
  • Willingness to advance skills through licensure or further education in surveying.

Nice to Have:

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
  • Previous experience in the mining industry or related field.
