About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Accountant I to join our team and support key financial operations, including journal entries, payments, billing, and general ledger maintenance. This role requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional with strong communication skills and a problem-solving mindset. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have experience with US GAAP and local GAAP compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, money moves, payments, and billing.
  • Analyze and maintain general ledger accounts and client insured records.
  • Generate and analyze accounting reports, including variances to forecasts, budgets, and prior years.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct variation and trend analysis for key general ledger accounts.
  • Apply funds to insured records, process refunds, and request payments for carriers and third parties.
  • Support the development and implementation of accounting policies and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, SOX procedures, SSAE16, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards (local GAAP & US GAAP).

Qualifications & Skills

Required:

  • Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelors preferred).
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance regulations.
