Position: Industrial Electrician Underground
Location: Gouverneur, NY (On-site)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join an underground zinc mining operation in northern New York State. This hands-on role involves installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in a mining environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial electrical work and the ability to work safely and efficiently in an underground setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and run cable, wire, and communication systems.
• Mount J-boxes, control boxes, and switch boxes for mechanical installations.
• Read and interpret electrical prints and diagrams.
• Test and troubleshoot circuits, motors, fans, controllers, VFDs, and transformers.
• Perform all terminations and splicing, including high-voltage splicing.
• Develop knowledge of hoisting and crushing operations to troubleshoot and maintain associated equipment.

Qualifications:

• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant industrial electrical experience.
• Skills:
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems and components.
  • Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions to perform duties safely and effectively.
• Must be able to perform tasks without posing a direct threat to the health and safety of oneself or others.
