We are seeking an experienced and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Elkhart, IN. This role is focused on designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient production of high-quality restroom trailers and related products. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, and test new and existing product lines.
- Analyze existing systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and solve design challenges.
- Identify and mitigate waste and inefficiencies in production processes.
- Manage engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery.
- Apply engineering principles to designs to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, managers, production workers, and external personnel to design and implement new systems and processes.
- Troubleshoot system failures, defects, or complaints, and implement effective solutions.
- Perform extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure they meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct research and stay updated on new technologies to innovate and improve products.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, regulations, and policies.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vehicle and/or trailer design.
Skills & Certifications:
- Proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems.
- Experience with MS Office; familiarity with Sage X is preferred.
- SolidWorks and Lean Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand and walk for extended periods.
