About the Role

We are seeking a DeltaV Engineer to join our team in Kalamazoo, MI. In this role, you'll design, implement, and support advanced Emerson DeltaV automation solutions that power biopharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing. What Youll Do

  • Design, configure, and implement Emerson DeltaV systems to support life sciences manufacturing.

  • Configure and optimize ISA-88 Batch processes and support DeltaV Batch solutions.

  • Participate in the full automation project lifecycle requirements gathering, functional and software design, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and startup.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex DCS/PLC/SCADA issues in regulated environments.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure automation solutions meet cGMP, GAMP5, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.

  • Support industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, and HART.

  • Provide on-site support and commissioning (travel up to 25%).

What We're Looking For

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

  • Stable work history in Life Sciences/Pharma, Biotech, or Medical Device environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV systems (design, implementation, configuration).

  • PLC experience in industrial/manufacturing settings.

  • Strong understanding of ISA-88 Batch Processing and DeltaV Batch configuration.

  • Familiarity with automation protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus, OPC, Foundation Fieldbus, HART).

  • Knowledge of GAMP5, cGMP, and 21 CFR Part 11 regulatory standards.

  • Proven experience with FAT/SAT, startup, and commissioning.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Rockwell Automation, Siemens PCS7, Inductive Automation Ignition.

  • Experience with alarm management, historian systems, advanced control strategies.

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, electrical design, loop tuning, and process optimization.

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or technicians.
