About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer / DevOps Lead – Azure Cloud Infrastructure to design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure.
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on expertise in Azure cloud infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, monitoring and observability, cloud security, and governance. The candidate should be capable of designing end-to-end cloud architectures, creating infrastructure and network diagrams, automating cloud deployments, managing containerized workloads, and ensuring operational excellence across enterprise-scale environments.
This role requires a technically strong professional who can drive cloud transformation initiatives, implement infrastructure best practices, improve platform reliability, and collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to deliver resilient cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Define and enforce cloud architecture standards, governance frameworks, security controls, and operational best practices.
- Design and maintain infrastructure architecture diagrams, network topology diagrams, deployment diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Design and manage Azure networking solutions, including VNet, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Private Link, DNS, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, NSGs, and routing configurations.
- Implement hybrid cloud and on-premises connectivity solutions.
- Drive cloud governance, cost optimization, performance tuning, and infrastructure reliability initiatives.
- Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep.
- Design, deploy, manage, and optimize containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Implement Kubernetes best practices, including cluster administration, upgrades, scaling, networking, ingress management, workload security, and platform automation.
- Implement Azure security best practices, including Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Key Vault, Managed Identities, network security, and compliance controls.
- Design and manage monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, or similar platforms.
- Build operational dashboards, define monitoring standards, and establish proactive alerting mechanisms.
- Lead incident management, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to deliver cloud-native and platform engineering solutions.
- Mentor team members and promote DevOps culture, automation, and engineering best practices across projects.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related cloud engineering roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and platform services.
- Experience designing and documenting infrastructure architecture, cloud solutions, deployment models, and network topology diagrams using Visio, Lucidchart, Draw.io, or equivalent tools.
- Deep experience designing and managing Azure networking solutions, including Azure VNet, Azure Firewall, ExpressRoute, VPN Gateway, Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Private Link, Traffic Manager, DNS, and network security controls.
- Strong hands-on experience managing production-grade Kubernetes environments, preferably Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
- Hands-on expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ingress Controllers, container networking, and orchestration technologies.
- Strong experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar tools.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM Templates, and Bicep.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, observability, and alerting platforms such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, Splunk, or New Relic.
- Strong understanding of Azure security services, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, Key Vault, governance, compliance, and cloud security best practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud cost optimization, resource governance, capacity planning, and operational excellence.
- Good understanding of AWS core infrastructure services and cloud architecture principles.
- Strong Linux administration, scripting, automation, troubleshooting, and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring-related issues.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Experience supporting global customers, including US and/or European clients.
