Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technical Specialist to join our innovative team. In this role, you will lead the development of electric vehicle components and systems, with a particular focus on high voltage batteries and distribution systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects from concept through testing and implementation, ensuring our solutions meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of electric vehicle components and systems, specializing in High Voltage (HV) batteries and HV Distribution Systems
  • Support System Engineering activities, including requirements definition, specifications development, DFMEAs, and DVPs
  • Lead testing of prototype assemblies and subassemblies to ensure performance and reliability
  • Support System Calibration & Troubleshooting to optimize performance
  • Assist in controls and software development for vehicle systems
  • Support Vehicle Integration activities, including packaging, interfaces, communication protocols, and diagnostics
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for build, assembly, inspection, and testing procedures

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree from a nationally accredited university or college in Electrical, Controls, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Alternative experience, background, and qualifications may be considered for exceptional candidates

Experience

  • Minimum of ten years' experience developing electric or hybrid vehicle component systems
  • Proficiency with software development tools including:
    • MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
    • CAN tools/Vector CANalyzer
    • Controls Development Platforms: MotoHawk/dSPACE/ETAS/CANape
    • LabVIEW
  • High voltage training and experience with high voltage battery assembly and service strongly preferred
  • Vehicle control systems experience required
