Pay Range: $26.65–$42.65 per hour

Sign-On Bonus: $15,000

Tuition Assistance: Up to $10,000

Job Overview

A healthcare organization in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a CT Technologist to join its Diagnostic Imaging team on the night shift.

This opportunity is open to experienced CT Technologists as well as qualified Radiologic Technologists who are CT board-eligible or need additional clinical training to become board-eligible. The CT Technologist will perform diagnostic CT examinations, administer contrast when appropriate, provide safe patient care across all age groups, and work closely with radiologists and other members of the clinical team.

Both 24-hour and 36-hour weekly schedules may be available. Some reduced-hour positions may still qualify for full-time benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic CT examinations according to established protocols
  • Prepare and position patients appropriately for CT procedures
  • Review imaging orders and confirm appropriate examinations
  • Operate CT equipment safely and efficiently
  • Obtain diagnostic-quality images while minimizing unnecessary radiation exposure
  • Perform venipuncture for contrast injections
  • Establish and manage IV access for power injector use
  • Administer contrast according to established policies and scope of practice
  • Monitor patients before, during, and after contrast administration
  • Provide age-appropriate care to:
    • Infants
    • Pediatric patients
    • Adolescents
    • Adults
    • Geriatric patients
  • Educate patients regarding imaging procedures and address questions or concerns
  • Follow universal precautions, infection-control standards, and radiation-safety practices
  • Prioritize multiple imaging requests and manage workflow efficiently
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate patient and imaging documentation
  • Assist with other imaging modalities when appropriately trained
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities as requested
  • Provide overtime, irregular-hour, or on-call coverage when operationally necessary
  • Perform other related imaging responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography – RT(R)
  • Current Nebraska Medical Radiographer license, or appropriate state license based on work location
  • Ability to perform venipuncture and manage IV access for power injector use
  • Strong radiation-safety knowledge
  • Ability to provide safe imaging care across the lifespan
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes, overtime, irregular hours, and on-call responsibilities when needed

Candidates may qualify through one of the following CT pathways:

  • 1–2 years of CT Technologist experience, or
  • Successful completion of an approved CT externship, or
  • CT board eligibility following appropriate clinical training

CT Certification

  • ARRT(CT) certification is preferred at hire
  • CT board-eligible technologists may be considered
  • Candidates requiring additional CT clinical training may also be considered
  • ARRT(CT) certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire or completion of required clinical training

BLS

  • Current American Heart Association BLS is strongly preferred upon hire
  • BLS must be obtained within 3 months of hire

Preferred

  • 1–2 years of CT Technologist experience
  • Current ARRT(CT) certification
  • Previous hospital-based CT experience
  • Experience with contrast administration and power injectors
  • Knowledge of additional imaging modalities
  • Interest in cross-training into other imaging specialties
