Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of the OR team, responsible for the cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure all surgical instruments and trays are properly sterilized, functional, and ready for procedures.
  • Maintain strict sterile practices to ensure patient safety and procedure efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with surgical staff, nurses, and fellow sterile processing team members to deliver exceptional support.
  • Perform decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with instrument functionality and report any equipment malfunctions.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and standards related to sterile processing and infection control.

Qualifications

  • CRCST certification is required at the time of application.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in sterile processing, preferably in a hospital or surgical setting.
  • High school diploma/GED required; further technical education or training is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and sterile processing equipment is essential.
  • Availability for flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
