Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Location: Temple, TX

Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Shifts Per Week: 3

Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $32 - $53 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Room (ER) team for night shifts. As part of a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center, this role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment that focuses on high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care while ensuring that all care protocols and guidelines are followed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to patients in the ER, following established protocols and procedures.
  • Perform detailed clinical assessments to identify patient needs and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including ED providers, social workers, and registration staff, to deliver patient-centered care.
  • Participate in unit-based projects, shared governance committees, and department improvement initiatives.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and ensure their understanding of treatments.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatments and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Promote teamwork by effectively communicating with the healthcare team to meet patient needs and deliver exceptional service.
  • Act as a preceptor to new staff and students, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program.
  • Valid RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or must obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • A minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience is required.

  • In-depth knowledge of emergency nursing practices, patient care standards, and clinical assessment techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain composure in high-stress situations and make sound clinical decisions.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical documentation systems and Microsoft Office tools.
