Shift Times: 1st shift with variable morning start times (7:00 am 3:30 pm or 8:00 am 4:30 pm)
Hourly Salary: $46.00 (plus/minus depending on relevant experience)
Annual Salary: $95,680
Job Summary:
The Nurse Manager provides leadership by planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating all aspects of the assigned department(s) under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON). This role is responsible for ensuring clinical safety, quality of care, and excellent customer service while supervising caregivers providing direct patient care. The Nurse Manager also ensures compliance with JCAHO, ODMA, and federal standards, assists in professional development, and maintains teamwork across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the assigned department(s), ensuring high-quality care, patient safety, and customer satisfaction.
- Supervise and guide caregivers, ensuring adherence to care standards and initiating corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, other departments, and administration to resolve mutual concerns and ensure optimal patient care.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with JCAHO, ODMA, and federal standards.
- Oversee professional development and educational programs for caregivers.
- Participate in and coordinate Medical Staff Committees, maintaining professional relationships.
- Maintain fiscal responsibility, including resource utilization, productivity, and budgeting.
- Ensure departmental readiness for audits and accreditation.
- Promote a positive environment and serve as a role model for other staff.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work across various areas of practice.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to operate computers and office equipment.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Education: Minimum BSN required.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of management experience in an acute care facility or healthcare setting, with a focus on sterile processing.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, financial acumen, computer proficiency, organizational theory, and human resource management skills.
- Attributes: Commitment to professional growth, positive attitude, ability to relate effectively, and strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Certifications:
- Required: CPR, ACLS (AHA)
- Preferred: TNCC certification
