Position Title: Director of Telemetry

Shift/Status: Full Time, 36 hrs/wk

Maximum Salary: $100,000 per year

Job Summary:

The Director of Telemetry is responsible for directing and managing the operations and activities of the telemetry nursing unit. This role involves ensuring that daily operations are efficient, quality improvement goals are met, and fiscal productivity and patient satisfaction are achieved. The Director is responsible for staff performance and departmental responsibilities, adhering to corporate, hospital, and safety policies and procedures. The position demands a leader who can provide high-quality patient care, act as a liaison among patients, physicians, and employees, and optimize the use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership: Plan, direct, and manage the department and staff to ensure quality service on a 24-hour basis. Promote teamwork with physicians and all healthcare providers.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the daily operations of the telemetry unit, ensuring compliance with JCAHO Standards and corporate policies. Manage supplies, equipment, and resources efficiently to support departmental goals.
  • Staff Performance: Ensure staff performance meets departmental goals and regulatory requirements. Foster an environment of professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Patient Care: Act as a liaison with patients and their representatives to provide high-quality care. Ensure patient satisfaction and address any concerns or issues that arise.
  • Cost Management: Optimize the use of resources to maximize productivity and minimize costs, while maintaining high standards of care.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
  • Licensure: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of progressive leadership experience in a relevant unit. Director-level experience is strongly preferred.
