Position Overview:

As a House Supervisor/Patient Flow Specialist, you will provide direction and guidance to hospital staff, ensuring effective utilization of nursing resources and resolution of patient and family concerns. In this leadership role, you will collaborate closely with charge nurses, clinical leaders, and the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to ensure smooth hospital operations and optimal patient flow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and guide staff in the interpretation and application of hospital policies and procedures.
- Assist in problem-solving, staff assignments, and resource utilization to optimize patient care.
- Provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support to staff to enhance productivity and performance.
- Supervise and collaborate with clinical leaders and charge nurses in decision-making processes.
- Handle patient flow, oversee the assignment of nursing resources, and respond to patient and family complaints/concerns.
- Lead the response to emergencies, ensuring the appropriate use of advanced medical equipment such as IV pumps, A-lines, chest tubes, and ventilators.
Education:
- Degree from an accredited Nursing Program required.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of RN experience in a hospital setting, with recent ICU experience preferred.
- Experience managing patient flow, supervising nursing resources, and providing leadership in a clinical setting.
- Skilled in the care of patients ranging from infancy to geriatrics, with a strong background in cardiac monitoring and post-operative care.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Active RN license in the State of Montana required.
- CPR certification required.
- ACLS and PALS certifications required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- In-depth knowledge of advanced nursing principles and procedures.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all organizational levels.
- Excellent customer service orientation, critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Flexible and independent, with the ability to initiate and develop special projects as needed.
