Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) PCU | OMC NS PCU

Location: Olathe, KS

Salary: Mid-Point Pay: $33-$40/hour

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening (1500-2230): $3.50
  • Night (2300-0730): $5.00
  • Weekend (1500 Friday-0659 Monday): $2.25

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. As a PCU RN, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population that includes post-operative Open Hearts, Vascular surgeries, ICU step-down patients, and more. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in titrating drips, working with specialized equipment such as Bipap, Opti Flow, and Hoyer lifts, and is passionate about delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to post-op day one Open Heart, Vascular surgeries, and other critical patients in the PCU.
  • Manage titratable drips (excluding pressors), ICU step-down care, and specialized equipment such as Bipap, Opti Flow, and Hoyer lifts.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Monitor patient vitals, assess conditions, and adjust treatments accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with ACLS protocols and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Required:
  • Kansas RN License.
  • 1+ years of RN hospital experience.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Preferred:
  • BSN preferred (ADN candidates must commit to obtaining a BSN within five years).
  • Experience working with post-op cardiovascular patients and ICU step-down care.
