Job Overview:
Join our dedicated nursing team as a Float Pool RN. This position offers a unique opportunity to work across multiple facilities in our Greater Austin Region - North, enhancing your skills and experiences in Med/Surg and Intermediate Care (IMC). As a Float Pool RN, you'll adapt to varying healthcare environments and contribute significantly to patient care across different units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in Med/Surg and IMC settings.
- Provide adaptable and fluid services to meet the needs of various departments while ensuring continuity of care.
- Exercise clinical judgment and make critical decisions for diverse patient populations.
- Foster a safe, therapeutic, and efficient environment for patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Engage in continuous learning and contribute to the nursing field through evidence-based practices and research.
- Advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their values and needs are reflected in the care plan.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and workflow efficiency.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to advance nursing practices and patient safety.
Essential Skills and Qualities:
- Expert knowledge of nursing practices and standards in Med/Surg and IMC.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of health promotion, illness prevention, and patient management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with diverse teams and patient populations.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining patient confidentiality and rights.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain BLS within 30 days of hire.
