Salary: $115,000 to $140,000

Overview:
Join the hospital-based outpatient clinic that serves a large geographic area primarily consisting of Alaskan Native Americans. This role offers a diverse and rewarding experience providing physical therapy to a wide range of clients, from pediatric to geriatric, with varying diagnoses including orthopedics, neurology, vestibular, and wound care. The position encompasses village travel, inpatient and outpatient care, home visits, and community outreach.
Job Description:
- Comprehensive Patient Care: Deliver full-time physical therapy services; manage a varied caseload involving orthopedic, neurologic, vestibular, and wound care needs.
- Diverse Settings: Work across multiple settings, including hospital outpatient clinics, inpatient units, home health, and during village travels, ensuring comprehensive community healthcare delivery.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to provide integrated and effective care. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and community health planning.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Communication: Provide culturally respectful care and effectively communicate with a diverse patient population, including those who may not speak English as their first language.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program required.
- Current Alaska state licensure as a Physical Therapist, in good standing.
- CPR certification required.
- Prior hospital-based experience is beneficial.
- Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting various medical and professional documents.
- Capable of writing reports and corresponding professionally.
- Skilled in verbal communication and able to present information clearly.
- Mathematical skills to manage measurements and calculations.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and reasoning skills.
Physical and Technical Environment:
- Hospital-based: Equipped with standard Physical Therapy equipment including hi-lo tables, whirlpools, therapeutic exercise equipment, and modalities like ultrasound and electric stimulation.
- Village-based: Adaptability required, with essential portable equipment provided for patient care in remote settings.
