Job Title: RN Supervisor - Emergency Department

Location: Temple, TX

Shift: 12-Hour Days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

Schedule: 3 Shifts Per Week (36 Hours)

Salary Range: $32 - $53 per hour

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced RN Supervisor for our Emergency Department. The RN Supervisor will oversee nursing and unit-based personnel, ensuring a safe, caring environment for patients, families, and staff. This role involves managing daily operations, enhancing patient care, and fostering teamwork and collaboration within the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations in the ED, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with an inter-professional team to plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for patients.
  • Ensure nursing staff maintain competency and adherence to standards of practice for the patient population.
  • Facilitate quality improvement initiatives, performance evaluations, and clinical research as needed.
  • Foster a supportive, compassionate environment for patients, families, and staff, ensuring professional relationships and best practices.
  • Actively participate in shared governance, inter-professional rounds, and discharge planning.
  • Monitor staff learning needs and assist in designing and evaluating educational programs to enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Collaborate with medical, allied health, and administrative staff to ensure the highest quality of care is provided.
  • Assist in human resource management, including hiring, coaching, and professional development of personnel.
  • Support budget development and resource allocation to optimize patient care and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide direct patient care as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (Bachelors preferred).
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency or critical care setting.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with experience in managing nursing staff and coordinating patient care.
