Job Title: Adult Behavioral Health Therapist

Location: Southgate, MI

Shift Type: Days (Monday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 7:00 PM, Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)

Salary Range:

Full License: $27.78 - $37.58 per hour / $54,171 - $73,281 annually

Limited License: $25.65 - $35.21 per hour / $50,017.50 - $68,659.50 annually

Job Overview:

The Adult Behavioral Health Therapist is responsible for maintaining a caseload of clients with primary mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse diagnoses. This role involves conducting intake assessments, maintaining case records, completing authorizations with funding sources, and providing appropriate treatment services based on medical necessity.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct intake assessments and provide direct treatment for adults and families with mental health and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
  2. Assess and document client needs, utilizing Person-Centered Planning principles.
  3. Provide individual and group therapy, ensuring services are based on medical necessity.
  4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists, primary care physicians, school personnel, and family service providers.
  5. Ensure compliance with all contractual requirements of funding sources and agency standards, maintaining state licensure as required.
  6. Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and case consultations.
  7. Complete all clinical records and documentation in a timely manner, following agency policies.
  8. Adhere to a professional code of ethics.
  9. Coordinate effective discharge planning prior to case closure.
  10. Complete 24 hours of training in the treatment of adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling.
  • Active licensure in the state of Michigan (Full or Limited License).
  • Experience in providing therapy to adults with mental health and/or co-occurring substance use disorders preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication, assessment, and documentation skills.
