Job Description:
As a CNC, you will be accountable for the clinical and operational functions of the unit during your designated shift, stepping in for the Nursing Director when necessary. You will be a part of a highly skilled team that works collaboratively to provide exceptional care to our patients. This role requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and coordinate all functions within the unit during your shift.
- Collaborate with the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource for staff and model a commitment to the organizations vision, mission, and values.
- Oversee and coordinate patient placement within the unit based on acuity, skill mix, and staff availability.
- Identify and address the educational needs of the unit, providing guidance and support to staff.
- Participate in patient care conferences, focusing on discharge planning and patient care needs.
- Conduct rounds with physicians and keep informed of any changes in patient conditions, making appropriate clinical decisions.
- Ensure that all orders are appropriate and carried out in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care Charge Nurse experience in Open Heart (CVOR) required.
- Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license.
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Associate Degree, or Nursing Diploma.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required before the start date.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 30 days of hire.
