Shifts Per Week: 3
Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $28.23 to $42.35, depending on experience and qualifications
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Critical Care Registered Nurse to join our 26-bed state-of-the-art Medical ICU. As a key member of the healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing patient care in collaboration with the patient, their family, and other healthcare professionals. You will play a vital role in achieving positive outcomes for critically ill patients and contribute to the success of the nursing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients with critical illnesses, including vent management.
- Respond to Code Blue situations and initiate necessary protocols.
- Ensure efficient patient flow, including screening, exam preparation, and arranging tests and admissions.
- Provide patient and family education regarding medications and treatment plans.
- Maintain and review patient records, ensuring accurate documentation of tests and results.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians.
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies and ensure proper patient care equipment.
- Manage and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required (Associate's Degree or higher).
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice, or an active Compact/Multi-State RN license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred and required within 6 months of hire.
- Prior ICU nursing experience is strongly preferred.
