Shift Times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Hourly: $28.85 - $33.65
Annually: $60,000 - $70,000 (based on licensure)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Chemical Dependency Counselor II to provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services for clients requiring chemical dependency treatment. The counselor will work with both male and female clients, offering individual and family counseling in a residential treatment setting or outpatient services. You will also collaborate with outside agencies to support clients treatment goals and ensure successful transitions into recovery programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide chemical dependency assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to clients.
- Facilitate individual and family counseling sessions.
- Manage client caseload, providing case management services for individuals transitioning from detox centers to residential treatment or outpatient services.
- Prepare written reports, maintain case documentation, and provide summaries for consultation in accordance with program standards.
- Act as an advocate for clients with courts, schools, treatment centers, and other services, making referrals and conducting follow-ups as needed.
- Provide outreach and case management services to primary clients.
- Collaborate with other team members and external agencies to ensure clients receive comprehensive care.
Qualifications:
- Language Skills: Fluent in both Spanish and English (required).
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field with 3 years of experience in chemical dependency counseling required.
- Knowledge and experience working with adolescents and alcohol/drug assessments required.
- Licensure:
- Must hold an LCDC II license or be licensure eligible (required).
- Skills:
- Ability to form strong therapeutic relationships with clients.
- Excellent group work, communication, and case management skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office, and experience using EMR systems (Avatar preferred).
