Location: Fall River, South Dakota
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Long-Term Care team in Fall River, South Dakota. As a Charge Nurse RN, you will be responsible for providing general nursing care to residents while guiding and supervising the Nursing Assistants. The RN will contribute to overall resident care, adhering to the resident care plan, facility policies, and professional standards of practice.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct nursing assessments regarding residents' health status, formulating nursing diagnoses to guide the strategy of care.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on assessments and diagnoses.
- Coordinate outside physician visits to meet residents' medical needs.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and family members, ensuring residents' needs are addressed.
- Provide teaching and education to residents, families, and staff regarding care plans and treatments.
- Advocate for resident rights and promote the choices philosophy in care delivery.
- Administer and chart routine and emergency medications and treatments, demonstrating knowledge of medication side effects.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records to ensure continuity and quality of care.
- Implement safety and infection control procedures to create a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Act as the primary contact and leader on assigned shifts, effectively supervising and guiding resident assistants to ensure compliance with care plans.
- Demonstrate proficiency in IV therapy, including initiating IVs, administering initial medications, and managing central lines and catheters.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary Quality Management program to ensure care standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in the state of South Dakota or compact state.
- Proficiency in administering medication and IV therapy, with a solid understanding of nursing care standards.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively teach and guide staff and provide education to residents and families.
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety protocols.
Salary:
- $34.00 - $39.00 per hour, based on experience.
Shift:
- Full-time position; rotating shifts may apply.
